INTRODUCTION

If we had to select the 20 most beautiful seashells, Oliva porphyria would be certainly elected. Its perfect form and pattern places it among the most attractive. The design of this shell seems like Indian typies or mountains sommits. This is the biggest representative of this shell family. Oliva porphyria is not so rare if we search some normal sizes. It's a shell particularly searched and collected. This species has been taken back very early by travellers coming from Central America, which explains its presence in a lot of private collections. It's a real pleasure for me to invite you to visit my collection in this web site. This will present you a selection of my most beautiful shells and some from lower quality. Philippe Guyot-Sionnest NB: For connoisseurs of nice shells, I also selected my most beautiful specimens coming from other families. |
